As a Process Safety Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Developing, effectively communicating, implementing and supporting global strategies, systems, and tools having major impacts around assessing and reducing process safety risks
• Creating global standard approaches to contribute to the effective understanding, implementation and management of process safety topics:  PHA quality, Layer of Protection Analysis, Facility Siting Assessments, Mechanical Integrity, Process Safety Information
• Collaborating with partners in other staff groups, businesses, and areas to improve process safety program understanding and implementation
• Leading and participation on teams to assess and improve internal process safety, fire safety, and combustible dust-related EHS and engineering standards
• Leading and participating in process safety and EHS audits

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Three (3) years of combined experience performing risk assessment/analysis techniques such as: Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and/or Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) in a private, public, government or military environment
• Five (5) years of combined safety and/or engineering experience with emphasis on process safety management in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Safety or Chemical Engineering and/or a Master’s degree in Safety or Engineering related field from an accredited institution
• Certification(s) that include: Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) Certified Process Safety Professional and/or Certified Safety Professional® (CSP®) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals® (BCSP)
• Strong project management skills and experience with demonstrated ability to identify and achieve against milestones, timelines and objectives
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results through collaborative efforts and through navigation of ambiguity
• Ability to lead, influence and inspire others across a matrixed organization

Travel: May include up to25% domestic/international
