Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Manager- Multidisciplinary practice- Valley Stream.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible and accountable for establishing and maintaining standards of practice and performance, directing, facilitating and evaluating work performance of all personnel within a defined patient care area, and maximizing patient outcomes on a 24-hour basis.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Promotes care delivery with respect for individuals rights and preferences. Coordinates nursing care with other healthcare disciplines, and assists in integrating services across the continuum of health care. Participates in and involves the nursing staff in evaluative research activities to promote evidence-based practice. Facilitates educational experiences for nursing students.
    • Participates in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making involving staff, such as in shared governance. Accepts organizational accountability for services provided to recipients. Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of health care. Encourages shared accountability for professional practice.
    • Assesses the impact of plans and strategies to address ethnic, cultural, and diversity changes in the population; political and social influences; financial and economic issues; the aging of society and demographic trends; ethical issues related to health care; environmental influences on health.
    • Participates in the recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel, including staff representative of the population diversity. Provides appropriate orientation for new staff, and provides individual feedback on staff development and progress. Encourages staff members to attain education, credentialing, and continuing professional development. Provides guidance for and supervision of personnel accountable to the nurse manager. Evaluates performance of personnel in a fair and transparent manner. Provides an open forum of communication with staff, allowing them ample opportunities to discuss issues and seek guidance.
    • Develops, implements, and monitors the budget for their defined area(s) of responsibility.
    • Assumes oversight for staffing, and scheduling personnel considering scope of practice, competencies, patient needs, and complexity of care. Advocates for a work environment that minimizes work-related illness and injury.
    • Understands and complies with state and federal laws concerning the healthcare services and practice they manage, and complies with all facility regulations and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree Nursing. Registered Nurse License-NYS. 3 - 5 years Clinical Nursing experience in an acute environment. Certification in relevant practice area required. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills. Basic computer skills..

Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree Nursing or related field. As per individual area/unit, Certification in clinical and/or nurse executive specialty recommended. 1 - 2 years Leadership or supervisory experience.
