Quality Engineer (Remote-Eligible)

As a Capital One Quality Engineer, you'll work with multiple teams and technologies to ensure Applications and Data are thoroughly tested for Production. You'll bring solid experience in emerging and traditional technologies such as:

Responsibilities

• Partner with product owners and other leaders to provide a consistent level of information about quality.

• Continuously improve software engineering practices

• Work within and across Agile teams to test and support technical solutions across a full stack of development tools and technologies

Skills

• Analysis/Risk Management

  • Assess business risk through analysis of complex business/technical intent and E2E understanding of business and customer flows

  • Define and analyze technical risk for new and/or modified software products, then document, perform and interpret functional tests to mitigate risk.

  • Develop risk mitigation strategies in the form of testing scope/coverage

• Delivery Management

  • Develop, coordinate, and lead detailed test execution including interdependencies with partners and domain teams

  • Support data conditioning for E2E, partner integration, and domain testing

• Problem Solving/Technical Knowledge

  • Lead technical discussions to establish and manage E2E environments

  • Lead technical triage and optional analysis for defect resolution

  • Adhere to defect tracking process; document software defects, using a defect tracking tool, monitor the progress in a timely manner, escalate aging and priority defects

  • Ensure Test Evidence is captured to prove results and be in compliance with Audit requirements

• Communications/Influence

  • Role faces off with Product, Client Development, Program, Tech feature teams, and Partners teams

  • Ability to share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to staff, business partners, managers, and technical resources in clear concise language that is appropriate to the target audience

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for E2E test planning and execution w/ Partner & domain teams

• Coordinate integration testing with partners

• Coordinate and manage E2E environments

• Support data conditioning for E2E, Partner, and domain testing teams

• Transparently manage quality risk through program reporting

• Identify and drive resolution of software defects to minimize customer impacts

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience

• 2+ years' experience with one of the following Agile methodologies: Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban

• Experience building and integrating Test Plans and Quality Solution

• Experience in Computer Science fundamentals including code coverage, test planning and execution for a microservices-based software architecture

• Experience leading integrated test execution across multiple teams/platforms (in Agile experience leading across Agile Release Trains)

• 3+ Years' experience in one of the following Quality Assurance technologies: ATDD, Selenium, Cucumber, SoapUI and Postman

• 3+ Years' experience in Test Automation/Engineering: JavaScript, Protractor, Gherkin, JMeter, ATDD, 7PS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree

• 5+ years of professional experience in a technical role

• 6+ years of leadership experience with full life-cycle IT development and platform support

• 3+ years' experience in one of the following Cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP

• 3+ years' experience in one of the following Build and CICD technologies: lSVN, GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus or Sonar

• Certified in one of the following: Java, Spring or AWS technologies

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

- $114,766 and $135,398 for Senior Automation Test Eng

Location is Colorado

- $97,277 and $114,765 for Senior Automation Test Eng
