The National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH) seeks a creative and passionate full-time social media and digital communications associate with 3+ years of experience. The associate will join a growing, collaborative team of progressive thinkers who are passionate about women’s and gender-related healthcare and will have the opportunity to work closely with senior-level staff on important projects for this professional association. This position reports to the Membership and Marketing Manager.

Job duties: 

  • Working with strategic communications consultants, and Marketing and Membership Manager, create and execute an annual communications plan to showcase the work of NPWH and the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) profession 
  • Create e-mail campaigns for member communications including monthly newsletters, promotional emails, and other announcements.
  • Review and edit the weekly NPWH E-News Brief
  • Manage NPWH’s social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram), including research and monthly brainstorming on best practices for increasing engagement
  • Create minor graphic designs such as social media infographics and website sliders in CANVA 
  • Maintain an editorial calendar of important holidays/events (i.e. NP Week, National Women’s Health Week) and create campaigns for NPWH participation as appropriate 
  • Update and maintain NPWH website and utilize NPWH Communities (members-only online community) for marketing and informational purposes
  • Manage creation and editing of various promotional print communications
  • Create and edit short in-house videos, podcasts, and reels for our website and online channels. 
  • Serves as staff liaison to various NPWH volunteer committees as assigned
  • Attend NPWH Annual Conference (7 days) and oversee social media postings and member interviews.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired qualifications/skills:

  • A minimum of three years working in professional social media, communications, or marketing fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e., marketing, communications, digital communications, or related field).
  • Excellent communication and editing skills – this position will serve as the “voice” of NPWH and be responsible for public-facing communications
  • Ability to think critically with an eye for detail
  • Experience working with Hootsuite, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Canva, and HTML codes —YouTube and Adobe products are a plus
  • Comfortable with and willing to learn new business technologies—a CRM database, email-marketing platforms, video editing, etc.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently in a fully remote office environment
  • Value being a member of a small, high-performing team
  • A passion and knowledge for women’s and gender-related healthcare (plus)
  • Ability to travel as needed, including mandatory travel to the Annual Conference each fall (1 week)
  • Work East Coast Hours 8:30 am-5 pm
