The Lead Technical Support Engineer will be part of the Nexus Controls organization. You will be responsible for day-to-day resolution of customer issues and assigned projects.
As a Lead Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for :
- Serving as primary point of contact for contract customers' remote diagnostics of turbine controls, excitation, starting systems and ICS controllers
- Possessing detailed understanding of controls and plant operations to assure successful and timely diagnostics of control systems.
- Coordinating and owning all contract deliverables and execution for assigned Remote Diagnostic contracts and assigned projects
- Providing technical guidance and council to site and Remote Services personnel. Compiling contract case notes and formal reports per operating guidelines.
- Developing execution SOPs surrounding delivery of services and performing proactive verifications of contract customer site connectivity and tool availability
- Owning contract documentation and information compilation, distribution and storage and providing input and assist as needed on commercial proposals
- Serving as technical expert to Remote Service Product Leader on NPI programs to clearly define products and services to drive growth
- Supporting EHS excellence on all assigned projects and programs and generating or identify sales opportunities through PAC and other data mining
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will :
- Have a degree in electrical or Mechanical Engineering with focus on Controls
- Possess a minimum 5 yrs. experience working on MkV* / MkVI*(e) controllers, HMI Cimplicity interfaces, EX2100, EX2100e exciters, various starting systems as applied to Gas, aero & steam turbines, and ICS systems
- Be available to work varying shifts including some holidays and weekends.
- Be able to obtain a passport pass background checks and possible drug / alcohol checks
- Have knowledge and understanding of Power Services Information and documentation Systems
- Have a thorough understanding of GE Software tools used on GE control systems and working knowledge of all GE Heavy Duty Gas, steam and aero Turbines and related ICS systems
- Have the strategic capacity to sift through complex technical issues / problems and focus on the critical priorities and perform necessary tasks to identify a viable solution in the least possible time
