Position Summary

Position Title Student Philanthropy Officer Division Major Gifts & Development Department University Advancement Location Erie, Pa Position Summary
The essential functions/duties of a Student Philanthropy Officer:

  • Engage alumni, parents, and friends of upcoming events.
  • Fundraise for financial support over the phone from Gannon alumni, parents, and friends
  • Accurately update biographic and demographic information in database (emails, addresses, prefix titles).
  • Write thank you note to donors
  • Share your Gannon story
  • Communicate all necessary feedback and responses to direct GU staff supervisor and Student Philanthropy Managers.
  • Help assist with Homecoming and Family weekend activities including being present at registration, tailgate, and various other events as assigned
  • Help assist with all constituent mailings
  • Help assist with Day of Giving and Giving Tuesday
  • Assist Supervisor with student quotes/student stories
  • Help assist with senior week/senior social set up.
  • Positively portray Gannon University
  • Other duties as assigned

Fall 2022 Tentative Hours Available: Face to face with some remote opportunity
Sundays 2:00pm-5:00pm or 6PM-9PM
Monday-Thursday between hours of 5:30-8:30 M
Flexible scheduling available-speak with supervisor
Required Qualifications
-Must be an enrolled, full time Gannon student (undergraduate or graduate)
-Must possess excellent verbal and organization skills
-Must be able to promote and uphold the mission of Gannon University
Preferred Qualifications
-Participation in student organizations on campus
-Previous experience working on the phone
-Previous sales or fundraising experience
-Experience working in a busy and often noisy office setting
Physical Demands
-Will be working in a busy University office setting with other student callers
-Virtual option will be made available
-Must be able to accurately transcribe information
