This position is primarily responsible for building and obtaining new business for the company. The Director of Business Development locates, develops, defines, and closes new business relationships for the company with the objective of growing the dollar value of the company.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute the overall strategic plan for business development.

  • Work and partner with hospitals, operating rooms and surgeons to sell company services.

  • Build and maintain relationships with medical professionals, including surgeons and doctors, that have patients who would benefit from wound care treatment.

  • Seek out new patients and new patient referrals, via sales and marketing efforts.

  • Generate new leads and converting them to patient referrals

  • Make formal presentations and follow-up calls to prospective new and existing accounts.

  • Maintain contact with clinics, monitor patient referrals, and identify areas that need improvement and formulating solutions.

  • Work closely with marketing team to manage production forecasting to deliver outstanding customer service and on-time delivery of services.

  • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly objectives to internal stakeholders; identify areas of concern and assist in generating solutions.

  • Forecast and track key account metrics.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.

  • Related experience and/or training in the field of business development.

  • Previous experience within the healthcare sector is a strong asset.

  • Client/account development experience is an asset.

  • Knowledge of the US medical landscape

  • Demonstration of strong competencies in building professional relationships, flexibility, and a keen sense of personal motivation and drive.

  • High level of creative thinking and strategic business planning.

  • Strong understanding of the sales process and methodologies.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Internet Explorer) and CRM.

  • Possess strong communication and listening skills.

  • Able to focus and perform tasks in a quick efficient and timely manner.

  • Able to work independently.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
