The Executive Consulting Group (ECG) is a special projects and internal consulting team tasked with supporting top executive priorities across ChenMed. ECG’s projects include designing strategic solutions for evolving challenges; driving execution of key initiatives; amplifying executive bandwidth by providing tactical support; and covering functional leadership gaps on an interim basis.  As the driving force behind executive priorities, this team may work on a wide range of needs from discrete company strategic priorities to functional staffing coverage to innovation/special projects. ECG partners across all functional groups within the enterprise to help amplify executive bandwidth by supplying day to day support (or fully covering functional leadership gaps that emerge as ChenMed grows) and getting to the best solutions to achieve impact. As a pipeline of leadership talent, the ECG is structured to provide the team with a wide cross-functional view and executive leadership exposure. As the team builds a reputation for its capacity to deliver rapid and sustainable impact, members will be encouraged to take on positions of leadership within the organization.

As an Engagement Manager you will work with ChenMed leadership to solve our most difficult challenges. Incumbents will have the opportunity to leverage knowledge, entrepreneurial drive, proven leadership, communications, and problem-solving skills to build strong relationships and deliver results working with multiple centers of expertise (COE) to gain a broad understanding of the organization.

The Engagement Manager supports a broad range of COEs. The role is meant to have the capacity and flexibility to amplify a COE's ability to achieve sustainable bottom-line results in line with executive priorities in the following categories.  The ideal candidate:

  • Designs strategic solutions to evolving challenges.

  • Acts as a facilitator able to lead problem solving sessions with diverse subject matter experts. Helps SMEs structure a problem, draw insights from data, define actionable solutions, and define KPIs and targets to achieve objectives.

  • Drives implementation of solutions. Drives execution of initiatives with multiple workstreams. Leads work teams exercising discretion to optimize resources to deliver objectives.

  • Amplifies executive bandwidth by supplying day-to-day support. Acts as a deputy to senior directors with discretionary ability to tap-into/leverage/assign COE resources to evolving priorities, both strategic and tactical.

Home office leadership talent pipeline

The Engagement Manager will demonstrate the personal capacity to grow into the role of ECG Partner, as well as assume manager roles within Home Office COEs, and potentially market or regional P&Ls. In addition, Engagement Managers take an active role to enhance ECG capabilities and onboard new talent as part of our apprenticeship-based model.  The ideal candidate:

  • Codifies and disseminates knowledge and introduces new frameworks, tools, or ways of using existing material to address challenges

  • Proactively creates relationships across the enterprise to stay current on organizational needs and identifies opportunities for ECG to support new initiatives

EDUCATION / SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to lead and coach all levels in a healthcare environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Able to work with and motivate employees at all levels of the organization and across all departments involved/affected by change

  • Clear, practical and hands-on orientation; capable of identifying project opportunities and quick wins.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • StrongNormal ability to effectively manage demand, manage expectations, deliver multiple projects quickly

  • Four (4) plus years of work-related experience with outstanding record of professional achievement, including people leadership AND

  • Three (3) years of management consulting, private equity or banking experience OR equivalent experience from a corporate leadership development program

  • Experience in healthcare service industry and emerging healthcare delivery models in value-based care preferred

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional learning agility and servant mindset

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate analysis into prioritized, easy to understand and well-founded recommendations

  • Superior ability to synthesize and communicate complex ideas effectively, refine, summarize, and clearly present data and information to all levels of the organization – both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to tailor approach to customer and get things done in a variety of ways, build alignment and engage at all levels of a matrixed organization, including senior executive

  • Resourcefulness in delivering results with demonstrated track-record in customer service orientation, bias to action, and reliability/follow-through

  • Understanding of the healthcare landscape and strategic implications of competitor, partner, and regulatory activity preferred

  • Outstanding skill in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint but including Excel, Word and Outlook

This position requires less than 10% of travel nationwide
