Position Summary


L3Harris Space & Sensors in Cincinnati Ohio is currently seeking a talented FPGA designer with experience developing complex FPGA designs. You will get the opportunity to lead requirements, system design, detailed design, and hardware integration on cutting-edge systems. RESPONSIBILITES
  • Product Development /Technical Leadership
    • Requirements, system design, detailed design, and integration of FPGA architectures.
    • Effective communication skills with internal and external customers.
    • Organize and lead system level Engineering Review Boards (ERBs).
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and reviewer for detailed design documents and VHDL code.
    • Analysis of FPGA power consumption, static timing, clock domain crossing, and radiation impacts across worst-case mission life.
    • Technical presentations including internal and external design reviews.
    • Support to internal and external production/manufacturing, test/verification, and delivered products.
    • Support bid and proposal activities to generate technical solutions, cost, and schedule estimation.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE, BSEET, or BSECE) and minimum 6 years prior related experience OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

  • Strong knowledge of FPGA architectures and VHDL design including at least 4 years of direct experience.
    • ModelSim/Questa or equivalent logic simulation tools
    • MATLAB/Simulink experience is a plus
    • Standard streaming and memory mapped interfaces (Avalon, AMBA, etc.)
    • Experience with FPGA vendor tools (Microsemi, Intel, Xilinx)
    • Understanding of digital hardware design, interfaces, and architectures.
      • NAND, NOR, and DDR memory interfaces
      • GigE, 10GigE, GigE Vision
      • High Speed Serializers and Deserializers (SERDES)
      • LVDS, RS-422, I2C, SPI
      • Project/task management and technical estimating
      • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting complex technical situations
      • Ability to guide, coach, and train other employees.
      • Participation and/or leading of continuous improvement activities
      • Working knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, and test processes
      • Experience in design for test, quality, reliability, manufacturability, and EMC is a plus.
      • Experience in Agile Scrum development methods is a plus.
      • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, (U.S. Citizenship required), although one is not required for this role up front
