Software Designers, Applications Specialists

Software Designer

Capabilities : Work, create, and problem solve independently and cooperatively. Very good to excellent communications skills (written and verbal). Ability to focus in a fast paced, demanding, and stimulating industry, ability to execute according to plan. Excellent ability to communicate with Client stakeholders and team members. Extensive experience with software, not necessarily many products, but some products in depth. These products must be Windows based, preferably Win95/98/NT/2000/Xp Workstation products, however X-Windows and Motif windows based products experience would be comparable. Knowledge and experience in UML and the Unified Software Development methodology required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, especially written. Knowledge as to software exception priorities, how to express software execution exceptions in concise, efficient, terms consistent with the manner in which these exceptions are remedied by programmers.

Primary Responsibilities : Primary : Compose Use Cases in Embarcadero/Describe to resolve all Requirements, organize the Use Cases into Packages for optimal OOD configuration. Articulate Use Case Scenarios to resolve all workflow, data flow and business process requirements. Construct support diagrams (Activity, Statechart, Sequence, and Collaboration diagrams) as needed to articulate the Design to a buildable level of detail. Interface with Client stakeholders and SMEs to resolve questions regarding the design details. Augment Requirements with information obtained from the Client. Complete tasks on time and within budget. Accouting systems experience a plus.

Education : BS or MS in any field which resulted in a love for learning, a strong command of the English language and the written word, and a strong sense of teamanship and the power of cooperative efforts.

Experience : 5+ years of experience in Software Design, Requirements Capture, Requirements Specification, Auditing Design against Requirements. Experience with Describe (big plus), Rational Rose, or other visual modeling UML tool required. Extensive experience with user-interface standards required. 508 Requirements experience a plus. Accouting systems experience a plus.
