Reporting to the Assistant Director of Talent Development, the Internal Communications & Events Specialist develops, implements and delivers a variety of Team Member communications, events and engagement activities that align with company culture and goals.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and design innovative, relevant, and engaging communications pieces that ensure Team Members at all levels of the organization are well informed of all company policies, procedures, guest service initiatives and property events, benefits and employee engagement initiatives, among others.

  • Plan and execute innovative and impactful employee engagement programs and events that align the core values and mission of the company with the employee experience.

  • Assist with the development of training and personal/professional development opportunities for a variety of stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Serve as the primary resource for company-wide employee engagement, events and communications programs.

  • Administer the delivery of internal communications across a variety of platforms including print signage, internal emails, intranet and digital signage.

  • Serve as the primary HR liaison for all marketing shared service design requests.

  • Performs other duties and projects, as requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Communications, Business or Related field; bachelors degree preferred.

  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience in communications, events, employee engagement or similar role.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Working knowledge of content creation software; Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.

  • Ability to create communications, events, and engagement activities that appeal to a variety of audiences and stakeholders.

  • Ability to meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail; ability to multi-task with the ability to be self-directed.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in luxury property or integrated casino resort setting.

  • Graphic design experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office setting.

  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conference. 

  • May be required to work evening, weekends, and holiday shifts.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.

  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.  

  • Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time.  Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.

  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.

  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors, or facility.

  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit, and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.

  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.

  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
