Warehouse Operations Manager

We've also launched a series of private label brands driven by customer feedback. We're hiring a Warehouse Manager to lead our growing warehouse team. Our ideal candidate is someone who is an exceptional people manager and operationally savvy. You will lead a team of 30-50 associates and several functional Team Leads. In this role, you will own execution of our daily, weekly, and monthly operational goals.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

• Ensure that we have an efficient warehouse operation while spending the majority of your time focusing on people management
• Inspire, develop, and support your direct reports and warehouse associates
• Connect your team to our vision and bring focus & intention to delivering on our stated goals
• Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members to build an exceptional team
• Manage the labor planning needs for your team to meet weekly goals through accurate planning for current and future hiring needs.
• Continuously find ways to do things more effectively, ask client-centric questions, share their learnings with others, and work through challenges and obstacles
• Review daily performance data and analyze for trends and opportunities. Make informed decisions and respond to changing operational needs effectively e.g. staffing and process changes.

You will oversee four functional areas:

• Outbound: manage every aspect of the outbound shipping process including picking, folding, and shipping orders. You will ensure that every detail is perfect in our Short Story curations. This team is also responsible for processing Client exchanges.
• Returns: ensure that all returned items are of highest quality before being placed back into inventory to delight another Client.
• New Merch: receive new inventory from our vendor partners by tagging, categorizing, and binning 100% of our new inventory
• Support: enable a successful operation overall by solving fulfillment issues, repairing and restoring inventory, and keeping equipment running smoothly. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or G Suite (Google Sheets, Docs, Slide) and love learning new systems
• You have a four-year degree or equivalent experience
• You an exceptional people manager with 3+ years leading other people managers of large teams (30-250). Overall, you have 7+ years of people leadership experience
• This is an 100% in person role. You must be able to work in our SF office in Mission Bay

Other Qualifications

• You thrive in fast-moving environments where you will move quickly 
• You are energetic and ready to be on-the-go -- leading your team from the floor for 8 or more hours per day
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically while working in a fast-paced startup environment
• Expert in navigating, utilizing, and teaching various platforms including Front, Zendesk, Airtable, and Stripe
• Entrepreneurial mindset: You must be comfortable and confident leading a small team where your ideas and efforts will have a direct impact on company processes
• Expertise in verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Previous experience working in ecommerce or a tech startup is a plus
• Must be able to wear many hats with a hands-on, ready to go attitude
• Must be flexible and accept change readily with a driven and positive mindset
• Eager to learn and excited to help build a company from the ground up
• Able to translate client experience communications into recommendations and actionable items
