General Summary:


Responsible for the acquisition and renewal of corporate and foundation (CFR) support for the college. Serves as a primary contact for cultivation and solicitation activities relating to corporations and foundations as part of the college's overall development program within the guidelines of federal, state and local laws and college, office, and division policies and procedures. Reports to the Vice President for College Advancement and works with advancement colleagues, faculty, staff, students, alumnae, donors, local and state business and civic leaders, foundation and corporation representatives and related contacts, volunteers, and other relevant constituents.


Essential Job Functions:



  1. Build, develop and manage the development program for foundations and corporations; work with development and advancement colleagues and the Vice President for College Advancement to continually identify, explore and cultivate new corporate and foundation sources and prospects.

  2. In coordination with the Vice President for College Advancement, create and execute an annual operating plan with monthly and quarterly fundraising and activity goals.

  3. Develop annual CFR assessment plan and impact report.

  4. Maintain a dynamic portfolio of key corporate and foundation contacts and secure new levels of institutional support through grants, partnerships, sponsorships, and other charitable initiatives.

  5. Draft high-quality proposals, grant requests, partnership appeals, letters, emails and related materials to corporations and foundations for solicitation purposes, and other fundraising communications to support corporate and foundation engagement best practices; coordinate with other offices of the college as needed for proposal development and approvals.

  6. Meet or exceed confirmed corporate and foundation fundraising goals and activity metrics, and provides timely progress reports.

  7. Assure timely and accurate reporting of gift/grant usage and impact to corporate and foundation investors, and provide updates on relevant college activities.

  8. In collaboration with Donor Relations, execute meaningful recognition and stewardship of new and long-term corporate and foundation donors and partners.

  9. Participate consistently in prospect strategy and management meetings and maintain a proactive partnership with the Research & Prospect Management Team.

  10. Collaborate with Advancement Services to acknowledge and support corporate and foundation matching gifts.

  11. Serve as primary contact for all corporate and foundation cultivation and solicitation activities as part of the college's overall development program.

  12. Assure that regular meetings with college leadership, faculty and staff are conducted to identify new opportunities and assure timely progress on priority projects.

  13. Serve as the primary CFR liaison for academic department/program advisory boards/groups.

  14. Serve as a development liaison to faculty and academic departments for the purpose of developing content for proposals and reports.

  15. Work with the president's cabinet including vice president for academic affairs, vice president for student affairs, vice president for college advancement, vice president for business and finance, vice president for equity and inclusion, vice president for enrollment and others to coordinate all faculty/staff initiated and/or connected grant proposals for the college.

  16. Collaborate with college and advancement leadership to build strong relationships internally and incorporate process improvements.

  17. Assist with other development projects as directed by the Vice President for College Advancement.


Non-Essential Job Functions:



  1. Assist with development, advancement, and Agnes Scott community events as requested.

  2. Attend professional development conferences and trainings.

  3. Actively review information and publications on the fundraising profession, philanthropy and advancement best practices.


REQUIREMENTS


Education: BA/BS degree in related field of study.


Experience: Minimum of five to seven years work experience with substantive experience in corporate and foundation relations, fundraising, and/or alumni and volunteer relations management. Experience in the field of higher education development or related field preferred.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:



  • Proven track record of grant-writing, soliciting, and closing corporate and foundation grants, gifts, and sponsorships in the $25K - $1M+

  • Evident ability to work effectively with a team and with many diverse constituencies in a college

  • Highly organized, self-starter with excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written; demonstrated ability to work independently and to maintain

  • Knowledge of and familiarity with corporate and foundation entities in the Metro Atlanta region

  • Familiarity with identifying, cultivating, and soliciting corporations and foundations for college

  • Familiarity with annual, major, and capital giving programs as well as comprehensive campaign knowledge

  • Good working knowledge of Google based productivity applications as well as MS Office and fundraising database

  • Ability to consistently conduct local and regional travel associated with the execution of the duties described above on a regular basis.

Other: Irregular and overtime hours are required for special projects and events.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, and occasional moving of light objects. Work is performed in an office.
