RIS I is the delivery of regional IT services to the end user. We offer support of end user devices including desktop, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. We support local and campus area networks, including wireless and cable plant.

AT&T has an opening for an Enterprise Architect to collaborate with program Service Providers, Client and RIS I Service Owners, and industry and vendor representatives to strategize and refine technology initiatives targeted for the enterprise.

RIS1 Enterprise Architect is responsible for overseeing technology insertion and evolution activities (identify, evaluate, engineer, and deploy) around technology and process changes to enhance RIS I service delivery to meet/exceed all Service Level Agreements (SLAs), meet customer mission needs, and/or incorporation of new service offerings to increase revenue. The Enterprise Architect must collaborate with GREENWAY and Non-GREEENWAY Service Providers, Client and RIS I Service Owners, and industry and vendor representatives to strategize and refine technology initiatives targeted for the enterprise. The Enterprise Architect ensures that there is a RIS I IT strategy and that it is aligned with our mission. It is their job to analyze business properties as well as the external environment and define all business needs. The RIS I Enterprise Architect must have overarching understanding of our organization and know of its capabilities and potentials. This position is responsible for analyzing current trends in technology architecture and educating all stakeholders best practices.  Through the use of clear architecture development approaches and the help of RIS I Service Manager, they define business goals and design and the information technology roadmap.

Responsibilities and activities include:

  • Working closely with the Operations team to understand operational inefficiencies that are impeding the achievement of GREENWAY SLAs, identify opportunities to increase efficiency with automation and/or process changes, communicate recommendations to program management, and then develop engineering requirements and plans for Service Manger engineering teams to implement.
  • Coordinating with RIS I Continuous Service Improvement team to gain insight from root cause analysis activities for potential technology/process improvements.
  • Leading the program’s Service Managers in the development of strategic roadmaps of technologies relevant to their technical service areas.
  • Identifying customer long term needs, industry trends, and ways to leverage corporate resources and technologies to support the client’s mission in a more efficient way. 
  • Coordinating with Service Managers and client Service Owners to understand customer needs.
  • Coordinating with individual Service Managers to ensure that their developed solutions are high-quality, secure, and resilient designs for new or improved services.
  • Providing and enforce engineering processes, standards, documentation requirements, integration of operational monitoring capabilities, and provide technical oversight to proposed architectures developed by Service Manager engineering teams.
  • Recommending standard AT&T and commercial industry solutions to meet client needs.
  • Developing relationships with the AT&T product house and bringing relevant information to project Service Managers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external technology vendors and organizations to collect relevant information on technologies relevant to our client’s mission.
  • Developing technical insertion proposals for our client, highlighting ways to bring new and emerging technologies to the client’s environment.
  • Providing prioritization recommendations to program management and service delivery, for their assignment of resources across the variety of disciplines involved in Service Design, for a consistent integrated approach to solution development balanced against operational needs.
  • Ensuring that documentation and training is available for Ops, field support specialists, and neighborhood managers to improve operational effectiveness.

Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will have 20 years of broad industry experience and technical leadership roles including hands on experience with service delivery, large scale system design and engineering, management of large-scale systems and technologies focused on customer mission. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in systems engineering, computer science, information systems, engineering management or related discipline is required.

  • Must have demonstrated experience in conducting requirements analysis, resource allocation, solution costing estimates, deliverable tracking, and reporting. 
  • Must be a skilled communicator and able to bring multiple parties together to solve complex problems for the customer and drive solutions to a successful end.
