The IT Director Data Management leads the Data & Analytics organization and helps drive the strategic direction of the team. You will build industry-leading, pioneering Big Data & AI capabilities. You will play an integral leadership role in strategic decision-making in partnership with peers in Business and Technology to build and deliver on a transformational Data, Analytics & AI roadmap. Ability to attract, motivate, retain, and develop a team is vital to be successful in this role. You will possess excellent business and communication skills and support business partners in prioritizing work across teams to support large programs and initiatives. You are deeply technical, inquisitive, authentic, optimistic, and transparent. You are passionate about growing and developing teams and excited to promote a data culture that is driven by insights.

Responsibilities:
  • Project delivery including but not limited to: Data management, Data Architecture, Data Governance, Business Intelligence, Agile Planning and scheduling of projects, and Staffing requirements
  • Leading performance, quality, budget, organization and standards of the group
  • Consulting and guiding business partners on the art of the possible help build a roadmap of projects, opportunities, and problems that technology can help solve efficiently
  • Participating in enterprise prioritization process to understand business needs and driving to consensus for allocation of resources to complete the work
  • Preparing and implementing departmental goals and objectives and assisting in the development of the IT department budget
  • Continuously improving the productivity, cost-effectiveness and quality of the department
  • Providing leadership and management support for developers and managers, including mentoring, team building, setting expectations & performance appraisals, salary administration and staff development

Education & Experience:

Required:
  • A Bachelor s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
  • 10 years+ of architecting business intelligence, ETL, data governance, data modeling, data architecture and master data solutions
  • At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or multi-functional team leadership
  • Experience in identifying, diagnosing, isolating, and resolving sophisticate complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • Expertise with building technology systems and solutions for Big Data, Machine Learning/Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW)

Preferred:
  • Experience working with AWS Cloud native solutions
  • Experience with Visualization & Reporting Tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with Data Fabric, Data Virtualization Technologies, and Lakehouse Solutions
  • Credentialed certifications in Data Governance and Master Data Management
  • Significant partner management experience in a matrix organization
  • Experience working in a Financial Services firm, specifically Asset Management

The NY salary range for this position is $160,000 - $210,000 depending on qualifications. This position is eligible for cash incentive providing the potential to earn more.
