The cornerstone of the Edward Jones Client experience is the relationship between the client and branch team. A key enabler of the relationship is the client's digital experience; clients want to engage and connect with their branch teams online. As a Technical Architect on the EJ Online Access Team, you'll collaborate to deliver an innovative and unique client experience across iOS, Android, and web platforms.

As a Technical Architect, you'll be responsible for the overall architecture and scalability of Edward Jones Online Access. Much of your time will be spent working with a train of thirteen scrum teams to ensure engineering discipline, set strategic direction for technical initiatives, managing technical escalations, and representing Online Access internally in Architectural Working Groups (AWG).

You'll join our established product team of problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who build and support the portal used by Edward Jones Clients to access their account data.

What you'll do
  • Serve as lead architect for the firm's most visible internally developed application, Online Access. In this role, you will be architecting new capabilities and integrating functionality from vendor products.
  • Guide and mentor teams on architecture, design, and integration of business software across multiple product platforms while ensuring solutions are built with performance, scalability, availability, and resiliency in mind.
  • Drive adaption of architectural patterns, design policies, code quality and performance across initiatives
  • Understand Product Teams and Agile methodology and practices, DevOps and continuous delivery practices.
  • Build strong partnerships and relationships with stakeholders in Product Management, UX, PMO, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Security.

What you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Management Information Systems preferred or related work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and building enterprise scale distributed solutions
  • 5+ years of experience in domain modelling, system design, cloud architectures & integration patterns
  • Practical experience in designing and building Microservices & REST API's. Experience with distributed caching, event-driven and streaming frameworks preferred.
  • Experienced in designing and building highly scalable, distributed & secure solutions that run in a cloud environment such as Azure
  • Experienced in both relational and non-relational data stores
  • Expert hands on experience in one of the following
    • Technologies such as Spring Boot, Microservices, API Management, Event Streaming, Cloud-Native Patterns, Observability & Performance optimizations
