Senior Principal Security Research Architect

You must relish the challenge of architecture and analysis of large, complex software products. Creativity and broad technical knowledge are highly valued; being able to design secure products that are technically possible within stakeholder requirements is essential in this role.

Work Youll Do

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering in depth security assessments across a variety of products and services. Your next project could be anything from analysis of an existing architecture for security concerns, to designing software and infrastructure systems with secure patterns. Responsibilities include:

• Designing and evaluating complex systems for computer security
• Addressing a broad range of strategic security concerns in infrastructure and software engineering designs
• Create, review, and maintain threat models for key components
• Addressing challenges in design, business goals, and stakeholder constraints for secure architecture
• Scope, prioritize and review security assessments and vulnerability research
• Performing risk assessments of complex systems
• Mentor members of the team in computer security as a role model
• Keeping up with new technologies for technical expertise and business analysis

What Youll Bring

• Demonstrable experience in designing and evaluating complex systems for computer security
• Demonstrable experience in creating, maintaining, and reviewing threat models for software development or operations teams
• Aptitude for self-study, setting and achieving long term goals
• Ability to effectively assess and communicate risks and appropriate levels of urgency to management and engineering staff
• Excellent organizational, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
• This role offers domestically located flexibility of workplace
• This role does not require access to a cleared work environment. Security clearances are not required, and active clearances cannot be sponsored

Nice to Have

• Experience with the identification and protection of sensitive data, including the development or implementation of data policy or governance frameworks
• Familiarity with vulnerability classification frameworks (e.g., OWASP Top 10, CVSS, MITRE CVE)
• Experience in threat detection solutions or threat hunting activities.
• High level understanding of penetration testing principles, tools, and techniques.
• Experience working in a large cloud or Internet software company
• Experience using common security assessment tools and techniques
• Knowledge of common vulnerabilities in different types of software and programming languages

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)

New York City Pay Range: from $142,400 to $256,500 per annum; eligible for bonus, equity, and may be eligble for compensation deferral.

Colorado Pay Range: from $127,400 to $243,000 per annum; eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracles differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
