This is a hybrid position with the expectation you are in the office(s) in Metro Atlanta, GA area several days per week.



JOB SUMMARY



The Charitable Giving Program Manager supports the Company’s strategic objective of Growing Georgia and serving with Purpose and Generosity. The manager implements charitable giving programs and projects advancing impactful giving and digitization of the business.



The Program Manager creatively implements a broad range of charitable giving brand enhancing activities to the benefit of the Company and communities across Georgia Power and Southern Company.



JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )




  • Undergraduate degree in Quantitative discipline or Business preferred


  • Skills in plan development, strategic leadership, foundation accounting (Income Statements and Balance Sheets), data analysis, and contractor/consultant management preferred


  • Excellent communication skills – written, oral, and interpersonal (including public speaking)


  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills


  • Strong skills in Excel and Power Point required and skills in Visio, PowerBI, Quickbooks and infographics HIGHLY preferred


  • Experience managing multiple projects and working with multiple stakeholders simultaneously


  • Ability to motivate and influence without positional leadership


  • Ability to build and maintain highly effective internal and external relationships


  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-directed


  • Broad, strategic understanding of the Company’s strategy, operations, policies, and procedures preferred


  • Georgia Power region or comparable territory-based experience preferred (e.g., working across a geography with internal partners)


  • Experience working with charitable programs preferred


  • Travel in-state (GPC region partners) and nationally (1-2 times per year) required




MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



Responsible for a portfolio of Charitable Giving programs and their lifecycle with annual budget expectations. These responsibilities include:




  • Program Development: develop the overall implementation business plan to meet program objectives and goals for foundation giving programs


  • Foundation Programs/RFPs (e.g., Waters for Georgia, Workforce for Georgia and others)


  • Southern Company and Georgia Power Foundation financial compliance framework including financial statements, audits, taxes and best practices


  • Georgia Power Foundation matching gift program for Club of Hearts and Education


  • Establish goals and manage goal performance


  • Staffing – Develop the strategy for implementing programs through in-house staffing, contractor staffing or a combination of both. Assist in the development of RFPs and selection and subsequent management of the vendors. Manage a matrix organization to achieve program goals.


  • Establish and manage infrastructure to support program implementation (training internal resources, developing protocols and procedures, deploying technology, establishing IT system support, etc.)


  • Develop, execute and manage workplans and implementation schedules


  • Partner with corporate and region teams to achieve program targets and work with assigned internal clients to ensure effective grantmaking


  • Program Results – report program metrics (investments made, populations served, number of communities/families/individuals benefitting, etc.)


  • Assist in the development of detailed progress reports to meet all internal and external reporting requirements. Help ensure accuracy of information.


  • Manage program implementation tracking results to assure performance toward goal


  • Communicate program results to internal partners on a consistent basis


  • Program Evaluations – Help develop evaluation protocols to measure program success


  • Incorporate program evaluation results and recommendations back into the program implementation plans


  • Budget – Help manage Charitable Giving program costs and manage the successful implementation of the programs to achieve higher efficacy and savings (digitization/self service)




External Representation: serve as the Georgia Power’s expert to non-profits and other stakeholders relating to corporate social responsibility and social justice topics



Manage assigned internal clients to ensure effective grantmaking throughout the year



Maintain strategic knowledge of charitable giving trends, impacts, resources, and best practices



Provide leadership in ACCP, Conference Board, Philanthropy Southeast and other national networks
