About the Role:


If you like to meet new people, solve problems, and work on cutting edge designs, then this is the position for you. We are a professional sales organization looking for a self-driven and highly motivated individual to take on a stable of core accounts. You will be representing some of the premier manufacturers in industrial automation, including our flagship line Rockwell Automation, and be backed by a team of technical professionals that can support even the most demanding customer applications. This is a fully remote position serving a very local account base. Working hours are flexible, but ultimately must align with assigned customers and deliver desired sales results. While some overnight travel may be required, the majority of the day-to-day business is typically conducted within a couple hours form your home base.


Summary of Key Responsibilities:


  • Promoting, demonstrating, and selling products and services.
  • Increasing business by generating sales to new customers and by sales and services to existing


customers.


  • Prospecting for new accounts within a specified geographical territory.
  • Pursuing product applications utilizing personal knowledge, internal specialists or other internal


resources, vendor representatives, and other available sources.


  • Establishing and maintaining customer relationships. Learning and evaluating customer


operations to aid in identifying customer objectives, requirements, and preferences.


  • Process product quotations and provide continuous follow up throughout the completion of the


customer's purchasing cycle.


  • Coordinate and direct employee teams to assist in large customer projects and high tech


automation issues.


Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, inventory software, internet software and order processing systems.


Requirements:


  • Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers and to be sensitive to their needs.
  • Able to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent attendance record required.
  • Able to work overtime as job requires.


Qualifications:


  • Qualified applicants must be customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to drive decisions with influence.
  • Product and application knowledge essential.
  • Two-year technical degree or more preferred.
  • Equivalent experience in the industry with a strong sales background will be given serious consideration.


Language Skills:


Ability to write routine, professional reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff to make an accurate assessment of customer needs. Ability to create and make presentations.


Mathematical Competence:


Ability to verify and calculate figures such as commissions, project costs, pricing, margin, and discount levels. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.


Reasoning Ability:


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to analyze customer needs and to recommend the proper course of action. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements
