Your Impact:
We're seeking a Senior ITS Engineer/Project Manager who will help us design, implement and maintain (ITS) devices and systems, adaptive traffic signal systems, networking infrastructures, and other transportation communication facilities. This opportunity includes a mix of field and office time with local work-related travel, outdoor field integration and oversight of ITS deployments.
We'll look to your expertise and provide continued professional development by having you:
Design
- Oversee and participate in the development of communications system designs to meet the functional requirements of the project.
- Oversee and assist with the development of ITS System Architectures.
- Oversee and assist with the development of ITS plans, specifications and estimates.
- Work with teams of multi-disciplinary civil and electrical engineers to develop projects.
Implementation/Construction Support
- Monitoring contractor services during system installation
- Perform system integration/acceptance testing
- Review shop drawings and material cut sheets
- Respond to Requests for Information
System Maintenance
- Diagnose/replace/repair failed traffic signal controllers and associated equipment.
- Diagnose/replace/repair failed field video and data equipment.
- Diagnose/replace/repair failed field Variable Message board and data equipment.
- Diagnose/replace/repair failed field traffic detection and Travel Time data equipment.
- Diagnose/replace/repair ITS communication equipment.
- Understanding of Fiber Optic Networks.
Business Development
- Lead/assist in the preparation of technical proposals and cost estimates in response to Requests for Proposals
- Develop/lead presentations in pursuit of new projects and/or presentation of completed projects
- Communicate directly with existing and potential clients
- Have relationships with key equipment vendors
Here's What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Substantial years of post-graduate experience in ITS and traffic signal system engineering.
- New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hiring.
- Experience with Microstation, Visio and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of power distribution and low voltage systems.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Must have communications skills.
