THE POSITION:

The Director of Logistics is responsible for managing end-to-end operations within our supply chain, and working internally with production, leadership, sales, warehousing and transportation to optimize our supply chain and align it with growth goals.

A successful candidate is nimble and can flex from the day-to-day operation to preparing strategic plans which align our supply chain to stay ahead and execute the growth of our business and customers. The individual will also have a strong ability to nurture external relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, freight brokers, vendors, and carriers, working closely with these parties to consistently meet deadlines and customer requirements as cost-effectively as possible.

Inventory and Warehouse Management: Review inventory levels, aging inventory, inventory status /rotation, SKU s organization, accuracy of inventory control, testing of controls, validation of processes to expectation. Seek to utilize space within owned warehouses to best maximize space and costs. Develop relationships with strategic 3PL partners to execute remaining inventory in a manner which best controls costs and meets customer requirements.

Transportation: Partner with brokers to develop and optimize effective and cost efficient supply chains. Seek to continuously meet internal and external customer requirements while improving the business and refining our logistics operations. Benchmark operations by remaining close to market performance, trends and forecasts.

Processes: Monitor, adjust, document processes relating to standard warehousing, fulfillment, and transportation procedures such as receiving, picking, value-added-services, staging, loading, unloading. Ensure continuous improvement in speed, efficiency, and costs

KPI s: Setting KPI s, monitoring KPI s, and implementing process improvements to ensure continuous improvement for all areas of responsibility. Prepare month business reviews with all partners and direct reports to communicate performance, set expectation, and drive the business forward

Teamwork/Collaboration: Collaborate both internally and externally across multiple levels. A successful candidate can demonstrate the ability to communicate and connect with internal executives, warehouse employees, drivers, customers, and vendors. This role needs to motivate and manage all the teams and individuals that keep our business operations running.

Budgeting: This individual must have a sound understanding of all the moving pieces (and prices) in a brand s logistics network and understand current market trends and forecasts to develop and manage a strong budget, ongoing forecasts, and the ability to accurately communicate risks and opportunities to the plan.

Experience/Work Experience:
  • Bachelor s degree or Master s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in an industry-related field
  • Experience managing teams of full-time and part-time employees
  • Experience in analyzing metrics and data-driven decision making
  • Proven ability to design and execute a supply chain strategy
  • Proven ability to consistently deliver on KPIs
  • Technical and applied understanding of TMS and WMS systems
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented
  • Multitasking capabilities
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies
  • Drive business forward while seeking to simplify
  • Experience with International Logistics and Trade Compliance
