University Human Resource Management ( UHRM ) is excited to offer a paid internship where you ll learn about the functions, services, and systems of HR. You ll assist in a variety of HR transactional and support tasks, learn valuable HR and customer service skills, complete a project and achieve learning goals and objectives related to the field of HR. This job requires some in person work at our downtown offices, and the ability to perform some tasks remotely. This internship is time limited for one year, from January 1, 2023 (start date can be flexible) through December 31, 2023. Current University students with a Federal Work-Study Award (financial aid) are encouraged to apply. This internship provides students with the opportunity to: Meet all members of the HR senior leadership team, learn about their roles, and have opportunity to ask questions. Gain access to the UU institutional CUPA -HR membership. Meet with HR s Associate Director for Recruitment to review resume and cover letter. Responsibilities -Works with Compliance Specialist on a variety of HR related tasks including updating Job information and compliance projects - Assists the HR Recruiting department in communicating with job applicants - Answers questions related to human resources and the hiring process - Replies to incoming email requests - Completes basic HR transactions in systems, including an HR Information System and an Applicant Tracking System - Completes an HR-related project - Consistently provides excellent customer service - Works with accuracy, detail, and maintains confidentiality with high level of integrity - May perform word processing and complete various types of correspondence Minimum Qualifications This internship is only available to currently enrolled University of Utah students. Familiarity with general office equipment; and demonstrated organizational, computer, human relation and effective communication skills required. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. Preferences - Two years of general office experience or equivalency. - Cross-cultural competence and ability to effectively communicate well with a diverse set of customers. - Preference given to bi-lingual applicants.
