The Role:

Mission:

Primary role is to support the Customer Center service personnel and ensure that purchased products produced at the Rock Hill Product Company are properly operating and functional

As Technical Support Engineer for air compressors, pumps or generators, your mission includes:
* Provide timely technical service support to the customer centers
* Develop and provide technical training for customer center service teams and distributors
* Responsible for correct and in-time availability of spare part information to include:

Ensuring the spare part books are available in time and are up to date

Define and control the spare part proposal

* Safeguard and continuously improve the product quality by a proactive failure reporting follow up to include:
Analyzing warranty reports
Being the driving force in the technical committee meetings (TCM)
Providing input for the Product Quality Meetings (PQM)
* Primary representative of the PTS Division in the project team meetings (PTM) and play an active role in product development projects to ensure the highest level of serviceability on new equipment
* Provide accurate and up to date service information related to the product range

Responsibilities:

  • Field calls from AC/CP/APT service technicians
  • Evaluate and process warranty claims
  • Respond to e-mails and evaluate all issues being raised to the factory from the field regarding units produced at the Rock Hill Product Company
  • Manage issues to Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and/or Marketing
  • Drive the Technical Committee Meeting (TCM) where issues, actions, and issue resolution will be assigned to and addressed by the appropriate departments
  • Create and present factory training modules to support the customer center
  • Identify trends within the reported field issues, warranty claims, and other various communications that are causing customer dissatisfaction as well as high warranty / quality costs

What we expect of you?

Experience:

  • Technical knowledge on diesel air compressors, pumps and electric driven generators
  • Minimum 2 years exposure to a similar technical environment

Education:

  • Electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering degree preferred but not required
  • Experience in a technical support role will be considered a plus

Skills:

  • Customer oriented and have a pro-active approach and analytical skills
  • Can evaluate data and information
  • Structure and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Good communication skills, including technical writing
  • Capable to work in a multidisciplinary team in order to provide the highest level of customer service
  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of MS Access is a plus
