The candidate will be responsible for solutions-based selling for the most important clinical flow laboratories primarily focused on the custom solutions for the Cell Therapy market in their region. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this person will be the main contact for all decision-makers in the assigned region, from actual users to the C-suite level. The main objectives of this person are two:
First, grow the business (80% of the time) and the second to be an internal consultant for customer and/or sales-related questions. The candidate will be expected to support the existing sales and marketing team in a collaborative and professional environment.

The position requires a person with strong knowledge of Clinical and Research Flow Cytometry as well as commercial skills and experience to understand the needs of our clients, develop and negotiate tailored solutions and ultimately convert those accounts to Slingshot Biosciences customers.

Requirements
  • Develops and manages assigned region strategically in order to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth
  • Hunt and research aggressively to understand territory growth opportunities.
  • Develops an effective business plan and sales strategy for selling off-the-shelf and custom solutions for flow cytometry and biomarker development space.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with key customers and leverages internal resources, when necessary, to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Develops the customer relationship by understanding both short-term and long-term needs/goals for optimal positioning of products and services
  • Schedules sales calls and travel itinerary to address customer needs and executes sales strategies through timely follow up, including detailed notes and feedback captured through CRM/Salesforce.com
  • Builds in-depth knowledge of CRM and sales management tools and applies these skills consistently to forecast business, manage customer opportunities, build opportunity pipeline, and make business decisions. Maintains records and communications with customer base through CRM tool.
  • Develops strategies and communication with inside sales/customer support service on all customer-related business.
  • Builds sales rapport and business acumen with all internal and exteranal customers.
  • Prospects new accounts and prepares tailored information for all sales calls to secure new customers.
  • Follows through on all marketing and/or inside sales generated leads to secure future business.
  • Educates and provides customers with existing product sales information.
  • Researches and evaluates competitor's products and positioning for internal feedback and communications and works with others to update Slingshot product positioning for a successful sale.
  • Participates in conferences and vendor exhibitions where assigned and provides quantitative and qualitative feedback.
  • Maintains regular and informative communications with all other team members, including cross-functional collaboration with executive team, production, marketing, product management, inside sales, customer service, etc.
  • Strictly adheres to all company compliance policies and demonstrates behavior consistent with the company's core values.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans to achieve defined goals.
  • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels of customers including C-level interaction.
  • Proven track record of driving profitable revenue and market share growth, demonstrated over a sustained period of time.
  • Adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Outstanding prospecting, territory management, lead management, negotiation and closing skills. Ability to coach less senior team members as part of their development.
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial personality, flexible, accountable, self-confidence and independent attitude.
  • In depth knowledge of SalesForce.com and lead generation platforms
  • Travel up to 75% of time
Education:
  • Master's degree in a Life Science field or Bachelor's degree with relevant Life Sciences sales experience required.
  • PhD in a Life Science field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required
Professional Experience:
  • Five years of prior flow cytometry, cell therapy, and/or biopharma sales experience required; preferably in life science reagents/consumables.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets for at least 3 years is required.
  • Prior sales management experience preferred.
  • Residing in the assigned region and extensive familiarity with existing academic, corporate, and government accounts in the region is required.
  • Broad applications experience within flow cytometry, cell therapy development and/or biomarker development and working knowledge of accounts in assigned territory preferred.
  • Previous laboratory experience required
