JOB DESCRIPTION
Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt
Supervisor(s): Executive Director

POSITION SUMMARY
Provides oversight of the day-to-day operations of the organization to achieve high standard human resource development, organizational infrastructure, and fundraising to ensure sustainability. The Director of Operations collaborates with the Executive Director and Director of Programs to meet organizational strategic goals. This role assists the Executive
Director in cultivating funding opportunities; developing efficient processes; leads efforts to ensure compliance and manage risk; and manages human resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Organizational Leadership (30%)
Serve as a key member of senior leadership, working in collaboration with the Executive Director to articulate and implement the strategic vision and leadership of the organization aligned with mission/goals.
Advance the mission of MTG through developing, reviewing/updating, and implementing policies, procedures, processes to ensure efficiencies.
Lead organizational day to day oversight to ensure a positive working environment, manage risk, and promote equity within the organization and programs.
Collaborate with the Executive Director on the organizational budget and ensure sound fiscal management.
Assist the Executive Director in developing and maintaining organizational infrastructure to meet organizational goals and compliance.
Provide leadership to organizational staff and community partners, including employers, to elevate the work of MTG in advancing racial equity in contributing to long-term sustainability, financial and housing stability, and increased asset/wealth building for participants.
Collaborate with the Director of Programs to manage communications, marketing, and promotion of MTG.
Assist Director of Programs with evaluation and quality improvement strategies for programs.
Fund Development (50%)
Lead fundraising opportunities including grant research, RFP responses, proposal preparation, grant writing, and grant submittals.
Manage the fund development calendar including annual prospects, identifying new funding streams, mapping out timelines and managing the process from beginning to end.
Write and secure both governmental and foundation based grants.
Cultivate relationships with donors, philanthropic partners, and government agencies.
Assist the Executive Director with developing an individual and organizational giving campaign.
Collaborate with the Director of Programs to manage outcome and metric reporting to funders , and promotion of fundraising events.
Human Resource Development (20%)
Assist the Executive Director in developing and maintaining up to date job descriptions reflective of the scope of work of the organization.
Collaborate with the Director of Programs to hire, train, and support staff in professional development, workforce programming best practices, and advancing racial justice.
Assist with hiring applicants and performance management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
BS/BA degree in related field required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in organizational leadership, budget management, and fundraising.
Experience with grant writing and grant process management
Minimum three years experience hiring, coaching and managing staff/building and motivating teams.
Extensive experience working with undeserved and diverse populations including communities of color, low income, experiencing homelessness, and/or with barriers to employment.
Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning, program development, and organizational and risk management.
Experienced leader in nonprofit settings advancing workforce development goals, initiatives, and resources.
Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects under stringent deadlines, and to respond to changing priorities, is essential.
Excellent written and interpersonal skills are essential.
Experience securing and working with government grants.
Project Management Experience.
DIGITAL AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
Experience with Apple iOS and Android operating system products.
Basic knowledge Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc.
Basic knowledge of Google Mail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.
Basic knowledge of major office machinery: computer, phone, fax, phone, scanner, printer, etc.
Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
WorkForceOne, Apricot Data Management Systems.
