As the Accountant, you are responsible for the fundamental aspects of MPG-s financial recordkeeping, including recording financial transactions, managing accounts and account reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be highly self-motivated. What you get to do every day: + Management of vendors- profiles within Unanet to ensure the most up-to-date PoC, ACH, and W9 info + Routing of payable vouchers to project managers- approvals, coding invoices to correct organization and GL account, and ensuring posting to correct period + Management of semi-monthly AP Payment batches to 1099s, Subcontractors, and Vendors + Administration of corporate credit card program and performing weekly reconciliation + Preparing and entering journal entries related to prepaid, fixed assets, and any related liability accruals + Preparing general ledger account reconciliations for manager review + Preparing year-end forms for taxes for IRS-1099s + Managing state regulations and ensuring compliance with any applicable labor laws + Supporting audit requirements + Providing ad hoc services to multiple Finance department teams (Accounts Payable, Project Accounting, Budgets) as necessary + Support the team with month-end closing processes + Gaining knowledge of department policies and procedures to create efficiencies as well as accurate and timely results + Collaborating across functions within the company to promote information sharing and analysis Qualifications US Citizenship required What skills are required? + 1+ years of Accounting/Finance/Business experience with a government contractor + BS/BA in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration + Knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and strong experience with (T&M) Time and Materials, (FFP) Fixed Price contracts + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment + Demonstrated intermediate user-level proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) + Experience with Unanet or Microsoft Navision + Ability to quickly comprehend processes and learn systems and tools + Ability to execute data mining and analysis and present those findings + Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communications skills Additional Information + All offers are contingent upon proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or successful accommodation for an exemption. + All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. + Compensation is unique to each candidate, and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position.
