Overview:
Xerox Corporation is looking for a talented and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary product development environment to conceptualize, model, design, and test cutting edge electro-mechanical hardware used in various printing systems. Xerox Corporation is an industry leader in monochrome and color printing with a product portfolio designed to support the needs of a wide customer base spanning from office equipment to high quality, high productivity systems in the production space. These systems utilize xerographic and inkjet marking technologies along with a variety of electro-mechanical parts and assemblies (custom sheet metal, plastic, and precision machined parts, motors, actuators, sensing hardware, etc) to enable high quality output for Xerox customers.
Responsibility:
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the development of solutions including design, modeling, prototype testing and optimization, implementation of the production design, and problem support for both manufacturing and the customer. The candidate will regularly interface with software, electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers and integrate internally developed hardware with existing/purchased parts and assemblies as well as partnered designed and developed hardware. The ideal candidate would be able to design at the detailed level, but problem solve at the system level.

Qualifications:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering; MS Preferred
- Ability to work in the US without sponsorship, now or in the future
- Experience with CAD applications (NX preferred), Finite Element Analysis, Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc) and Matlab
- Strong mechanical design, analysis, and fundamental engineering skills
- Strong hands-on problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
- Highly self-motivated, resourceful individual who works well with limited supervision and has good attention to detail
- Possess a strong desire to learn
- Experience in the development of AIJ printing systems (drying, inks, jetting, etc.) a plus
- Foreign language skills, especially in Chinese, French, German, or Japanese a plus
- Identify and document critical parameters and critical specifications for a subsystem or assembly
- Model/simulate designs to minimize iterations and optimize results
- Design and execute experiments, and analyze results
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams to accomplish deliverables
- Troubleshoot to find root causes of problems and follow-up with solution development and implementation
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously
