The Talent Data Steward Lead is an important role within the Talent Experience team that supports our ability to operate as a data-driven organization by maintaining the integrity and performance of our people/talent information and providing data services across the firm. This role will actively communicate to all stakeholders data quality issues with regards to the way data is collected, stored, processed, or used. A data steward might function as both a data coordinator, who tracks the movement of data inside an organization, and a data corrector, who understands and enforces internal rules on how data can be used. An effective data steward maintains agreed-upon data definitions and formats, identifies data quality issues and ensures that business users adhere to specified data standards.

Essential Duties:
  • Data Management
  • Provide input into evolving data quality management processes and standards. Collaborate with Data Champs to engage specific user segments, build relationships and understand their business priorities for data cleansing and data enhancement project design. This position will be responsible for the following:
    • Managing data from multiple sources.
    • Documenting Data lineage and understanding the movement of data from origin data point to target system.
    • Ensuring the quality of the data as it is gathered, stored and utilized by the firm.
    • Standardizing the firm's data entry and sharing processes.
    • Talent data governance policies
    • Establishing, documenting, and enforcing policies on how data is collected, stored and used.
    • Create and maintain a data governance methodology
    • Standardize metric definitions,
    • Create naming conventions
    • Educate end users in data literacy
    • Develop and implement quality controls and standards to ensure quality of data
    • Security - ensuring access to the right data by the right users at the right time based on whether information is private data, corporate data, or sensitive data.
    • Partners across the talent team to develop governance of all talent data and systems.
    • Assists in HR information systems design and development to ensure accurate data can be captured and used for insightful analytics.
    • Create and maintain a data governance methodology to standardize metric definitions, create naming conventions and educate end users in data literacy.
    • Follow controls and processes within the business to ensure adherence to relevant risk management, legal and compliance expectations and requirements.

    • Fewer errors in processes and decisions driven by data

  • Communications/interpersonal Skills
  • A data steward lead needs to be good at facilitating, communicating, educating, and enforcing data policies and issues. This role must have a global perspective to be able to determine and analyze broader impacts to the data. They must be able to communicate effectively across all levels in the firm to help demonstrate the value of data.
  • The Data Steward Lead will be required to clearly articulate new procedures and communicate with coworkers about defects/errors and gaps found then in the firms' data.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data issues and recommend data quality controls to resolve gaps/issues, data quality testing and reconciliation, updates, data merges, list bumps, and archiving of stale customer records. Work closely with the Data Operations team to review audits and address any gaps identified.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS(MUST NOTE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or similar from an accredited college/university (Required)
  • Technology certifications or designations (Preferred)

  • 3+ years minimum in a Data Management/Operations role (Required)
  • Proven ability to articulate and communicate the value of a reliable
  • customer data set (Required)
  • Talent and Human Resources experience (Preferred)
