The Impact Youll Make in this Role

3M is looking for a strong Senior Engineer capable of multiple language proficiency to contribute to a high profile microservice ecosystem that improves the existing products within the organization and delivers better healthcare applications. You will be a key contributor for multiple mission critical systems in addition to working on US government projects for the VA and DoD.

As a Senior Developer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by

• Design and Development of high quality, efficient, maintainable Java and Python code in a team environment with challenging deadlines
• Utilize Scrum methodologies for Agile development
• Work very closely with team in design, development, and code review meetings
• Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures
• Complying with corporate policies and procedures while acting in a manner consistent with 3Ms values and ethical standards

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

OR

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and eight (8) years of experience in the software industry
• Five (5) years of software development experience in Java using Maven or Gradle
• Four (4) years of experience with relational databases using RDS/Aurora and MySQL
• Two (2) years of software development experience in Python
• Two (2) years of AWS experience working with core services like S3, ECS, IAM
• Two (2) years of experience with CI/CD solutions

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include

• Experience with the AWS Lambda and Python
• Experience with the Apache Kafka or pub/sub architecture
• Experience with cloud architectures and large-scale, high volume hosted applications
• Ability to effectively communicate ideas, concepts and information
• Experience working on Government contracts with DoD or VA
• Experience with Test Driven Development and testing frameworks like JUnit
• Experience working in an Agile environment with strong test automation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Work location:

• Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid)

Travel: May include up to <5% domestic
