Junior Engineer/Developer
Vectrus seeks a results-driven Junior Engineer to assist with design, installation, experimentation, testing, and logistics functions relevant to a 5G Smart Warehouse prototype project being performed on Naval Base Coronado, San Diego, CA. The applicant should possess the ability to collaborate with project personnel to develop and test technical solutions integrated into the overall prototype system.
Specific to this opening, Vectrus is developing a smart warehousing prototype designed to provide increased digitization and efficiencies to existing DoD warehouses. This position requires the candidate to serve in multiple capacities with primary responsibilities to support integration and test of technologies such as robotics, Augmented Reality, and Smart Storage solutions designed to be fielded on a 5G supplied network.

This is a position in the local Richmond, VA area, and although remote, requires frequent (near daily) trips to our local Ashland, VA Test Bed facility.
Responsibilities
- Integration and testing of hardware/software developed solutions.
- Assist with system design, installation, experimentation, testing, and logistics of 5G Smart Warehouse hardware, software, and supporting components.
- Assist in integration, testing, and installation efforts at Naval Base Coronado.
- Support local test bed functions and related logistics of keeping the facility operational
- Assist in preparation system documentation, operational processes, and technical instructions.
Qualifications
- Education / Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Experience and Skill
- 1-5 years’ experience in an engineering project development environment.
- Proven experience in solving challenging technical problems.
- Experience with hardware/software testing.
- Individual must be a self-motivated performer and work well both as an individual as well as in small groups to accomplish unique mission objectives.
- Individual must be able to manage and prioritize multiple taskings at one time.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and support customer interactions.
- Clearance Requirement: ability to obtain Secret Clearance
