This position is part of the Power Technologies International (PTI) team. PTI is our trusted advisor that takes a holistic approach, providing business advisory, technical consulting, and simulation software solutions.

We are seeking a Power Systems Consultant to develop models for power systems elements (such as conventional and renewable generating plants, voltage support devices, etc.), perform model validation, perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for clients such as power producers, independent system operators, and transmission providers to develop solutions for safe and reliable power system operations. Relay protection and/or Electric Distribution planning work may also be assigned. Job responsibilities will include the application of power systems planning principles, simulation and analysis of power system steady state, dynamic, and transient behaviors, development of mathematical models for reliability assessment of electrical networks, and delivery of on-site technical consulting/training services.

**It's your role, here's the part you can play:**

+ Work on small to medium sized projects, in a single computer environment where design is semi-complex. The assignments can include steady-state, dynamic and transient analyses of electrical power transmission systems, modeling of renewable and conventional generation facilities and other elements of power systems, relay protection modeling, microgrid studies, electrical power distribution system studies, etc.

+ Analyze customer's business requirements and application objectives.

+ Develop an application design in products to meet customer's needs.

+ Conduct periodic status checks with customer and team to assess progress against plan.

+ Estimate time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement semi-complex project; supports development of project plan incorporating all project variables.

+ Prepare weekly status reports on all project activities.

+ Produce draft reports and presentations with study results for the review of supervisors.

+ May participate in pre-sales support as needed.

**Be part of our team, here's what's needed:**

+ Master's or PhD degree with a major in Electrical Power Systems Engineering with practical experience in using advanced power system analysis tools.

+ Knowledge of transmission system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow, transient stability, and electromagnetic transients.

+ Knowledge of PSS�E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, TARA, and/or Python is a plus.

+ Experience in relay protection and/or Electric Distribution is a plus.
