Avionics is looking for a Sr. Manager to lead the Supplier Quality team supporting the Central Region, including the Iowa Regional sites and our Mexicali, Mexico site portfolios. This leader will manage a team that provides manufacturing support of commodity supplied materials supporting Avionics. This position is an exciting opportunity with room for career growth opportunities and is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and execution of an overall strategic quality plan to improve supplier performance and customer satisfaction and is accountable for achieving quality goals, metrics, and manufacturing objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages technical talent and is responsible for an organization of quality engineers and/or managers.

  • Leverages advanced Quality tools (ZDP, Data Analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, APQP) and provides direction for employees on complex technical quality subjects.

  • Ensure efficient use of resources which contribute to the completion of domain projects. Drives reuse, personnel development, skill acquisition, process improvement.

  • Defines specific strategic quality plan along with related work scope.

  • Develops and ensures organizational compliance to policies, processes, and standard work requirements.

  • Contributes to long-term resource planning, while acquiring and developing technical resources which contribute to the effective completion of quality initiatives. Oversees development work being performed by third party partners.

  • Actively addresses employee performance and organizational alignment.

  • Focal point for senior leadership for quality initiatives.

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling responsibilities for groups of engineers or engineering managers.

  • Responsible to identify, communicate and mitigate risk in a segment the value stream.

  • Manages changes of the quality management system that are planned and implemented.

  • Reporting on the performance of the QMS to leaders as a basis for improvement of the QMS.

  • Ensuring awareness of customer requirements is promoted throughout the organization.

Typically Requires:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.

  • OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Candidate to have formal leadership experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain and/or Quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AS9100, ISO9000 or similar, Quality Management System (QMS) standards.

  • Experience with continuous improvement, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, 9S, etc.

  • Expertise in manufacturing Special Processes & related industry organizations (Nadcap).

  • Candidate to have formal leadership experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain and/or Quality.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
