In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. Your application and resume must clearly show that you possess the experience requirements including work schedule, hours worked per week, dates of employment; title, series, grade (if applicable). Transcripts must be provided for qualifications based on education. Provide course descriptions as necessary. Basic Requirement:

GS-09: Registration: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse to practice in any state. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must also meet one of the following requirements: Possession of a master’s degree in professional nursing; OR At least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or above) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program. Professional nursing experience is defined as one or more of the following: administering emergency care for illnesses, injuries, dental and mental health problems; performing cursory physical examinations which included gathering health histories and checking eyes, ears, nose, lungs, joints, etc., and assisting the physician with complete physical examination; assisting with the administration of medications and treatments, as ordered by the physician, and follow-up care. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is located on the Jacobs Creek Forest Service Civilian Conservation Center in Bristol, TN. The incumbent is responsible for providing a variety of health care functions such as assessment, treatment, counseling and education. The medical, dental and nursing needs for students are not predictable, but are normally of a non-critical nature.
