Job Description:

Summary:

Reporting to the Marketing Director, this position will be a business development role, responsible for positioning the company and leading promotion aspects for sustainable portfolios and programs.  The initial focus will be collaboration with local management, sales, quality control and operations to analyze market and customer insights and prioritize commercial sustainability offerings by product line and area.  As part of this prioritization, the role will support product portfolios and branding framework in development and implementation of these offerings.  This position will provide both marketing and technical support for Lehigh Hanson customers, working with regional sales and technical services teams, as well as business leadership. The position will work to develop strong relationships with leading consultants, contractors and owners focused on sustainable products and process opportunities to build and strengthen Lehigh Hanson's leadership position.


Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Identify and create opportunities for market development and sales by leveraging sustainability leadership and education.
  • Work closely with local teams (sales managers, sales representatives, QC, technical services and operations personnel) to ensure systematic and measurable evaluation of customer and market sustainability insights and resulting prioritizations.
  • Craft the strategy and implement the commercializing sustainability program.
  • Drive plan, implementation and support for company sustainability training programs. 
  • Collaborate with technical and sales teams to promote and own products framework.  Support the continuing opportunity to develop and strengthen sustainable product portfolios across all business lines and regions.
  • Collaborate with company business, digital and marketing leaders to develop value propositions that meet or exceed customer expectations.  Build tools and implement go-to-market strategies.
  • Continue to deepen personal understanding of the company's businesses and capabilities across North America while building a network with key stakeholders to continuously develop opportunities for organic growth.   
  • Continually evaluate sustainable opportunities and strategic projects that strengthen Lehigh Hanson's sustainability leadership position.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and trust both inside and outside the company.
  • Provide ongoing analysis of sustainability trends that may have impacts to the businesses.
  • Assess, prioritize, and organize the efforts and resources to take advantage of opportunities that present themselves.

Marketing:
 
  • Identify and develop strong working relationships with project owners, general contractors, and consulting architects and engineers. Focus on strategic commercial sustainability accounts to position the company for work across business lines and regions. 
  • Engage and participate in the promotion of sustainable construction and product solutions with key trade associations and policymakers.
  • Provide in-field sales support to our customers and sales teams at all stages of sustainable projects and product portfolios

General:
 
  • Provide support for company sustainability programs. 
  • Support consistent company brand messaging and image. 
  • Create strategies and plans to drive value enhancement, revenue growth and cost optimization. 
  • Prepare and present project proposals that include a thorough evaluation of projected financial returns, market opportunities, and key risks. 
  • Assist with assessing, prioritizing, and management and delivery on strategic sustainability projects. 
  • Participate as an active member of team to achieve company's strategic goals and leadership principles. 

Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • Experience in senior-level technical, sales and customer service skills required
  • Bachelor's in engineering, architecture, construction management, business management, or marketing.
  • 8-10 years of construction or design industry experience and 2-3 years of Sustainability related experience
  • Technical sales experience required
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Aptitude to learning new aspects of commercial sustainability both upstream and downstream
  • Strong networking skills and ability to work with and influence diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to build consensus and drive consistency
  • Self-directed, with minimal supervision while managing multiple projects
  • Experience in cement, aggregate ready mixed concrete or concrete products with operations experience highly preferred
  • Excellent skills in collecting and organizing data, project management and go-to-market strategies
  • Computer proficiency (thorough knowledge of Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Streams and Forms)
  • Position will require at least 30% travel
