Senior Cloud Engineer

Job Description:

The Sr. Cloud Engineer position is responsible for performing all technical duties associated with engineering, delivering, and supporting Cloud services for our clients.  This includes fundamental solution design, project planning and implementation of Azure architectures in line with the Microsoft Well Architected Framework.  The Cloud Engineer often performs these duties under the direction of the VP, Cloud Services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a list of tasks/duties, to be performed by the position of the Sr. Cloud Engineer.  This is not a complete list of tasks/duties, additional responsibilities assigned as needed.

• Gathers and translates client business requirements and maps those into use cases for Microsoft 365 / Azure
• Designs, migrates, builds, and supports Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions
• Optimizes Azure infrastructure for cost, performance and compliance with industry and government regulations
• Shares knowledge with others through documentation, KB articles, trainings as assigned, etc.
• Acts as the technical Subject Matter Expert and a resource to our Sales teams during the pre-sales process
• Communicates Microsoft 365 / Azure product benefits and Executech professional services capabilities and value to client technical and business leaders
• May be assigned other work as needed to accomplish team goals and initiatives

Inter-departmental coordination:

• Coordinate projects with Professional Services, Onboarding/Offboarding, CSMs and Salespeople as required

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

• 3 years of hands-on Azure and Microsoft 365 experience, preferably with a CSP
• At least two Associate-level (or higher) Microsoft Cloud certifications such as Azure Administrator, Azure Security Engineer, Azure Data Engineer or Azure Developer
• Experienced in performing migrations of medium to high complexity from on premise to Azure
• Experienced in rehosting and re-platforming cloud workloads in Azure
• Comfortable using the Azure CLI, PowerShell and other Azure tools to implement and manage Azure resources
• Experienced in implementing and troubleshooting foundational Azure services (VMs, Storage, Networking, Backup, etc.)
• Experience with Azure DevOps or Azure Virtual Desktop is a plus
• Well-versed at creating detailed Scopes of Work for presentation to clients
• ConnectWise experience preferred

Typical Working Environment:

• Work in a temperature-controlled office environment
• Low to moderate noise levels consistent within an office environment; staff, phones, collaborative dialogue

Interaction/Supervision:

• Interact with managers, co-workers, vendors and clients
• Mentor cloud services staff, if applicable

Physical Demands:

• Constantly talk, hear, sit, utilize keyboard/ten key, fine dexterity with hands and repetitive hand motion.
• Occasionally reach overhead, kneel, climb and stand
• Rarely lift and carry between to 21-50lbs., push/pull between 21-50lbs., squat, crawl, walk-slippery surfaces, walk-uneven surfaces and bend

Hours of Work:

This position will work various hours to meet the needs of clients and business operations.
