Position Summary:

In this highly visible role, you will define BEOL integration schemes to be used in state of the art semiconductor manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for integration and technology development, including Cu and Al wiring processes for a variety of projects. You must have a proven track record in a device integration role in the semiconductor field and have a hands-on approach to new process development. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to communicate ideas with foundry customers, colleagues, and management.



Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical direction for BEOL process/integration development

  • Work with external and internal groups to create or transfer new BEOL processes

  • Define technical requirements for BEOL processes being created

  • Work with process & tool engineers to develop or transfer processes

  • Ensure process monitors, including SPC charts and tool Quals, are adequate for robust manufacturing

  • Identify risks to process development/transfer and provide solutions to mitigate them.

  • Risk analysis will include process capability, integration issues, reliability, electrical performance, and defect performance

  • Work with management to roadmap out future improvements in process capability, electrical performance, and defect reduction for BEOL processes.

  • Work with customers to identify process solutions to metal integration challenges.

Required Qualifications:

Education: BS in Electrical, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics or other relevant discipline. (MS preferred)



Experience and Skills:


  • 3+ years of BEOL integration experience (must include some level of copper experience)

  • Good understanding of unit process steps for dual damascene copper

  • Understanding of the interactions of individual process steps on the overall process flow, electrical performance, and reliability

  • Good problem solving capability with strong use of data and science to propose solutions

  • Familiar with statistical analysis tools, DOEs, and SPC

  • Able to communicate technical data and results to other engineers and management well

  • Good team player, highly energetic, self-motivated, & able to work with and give technical guidance to a cross-functional teams


US Citizenship Required: This position will require the holding of or ability to obtain government security clearance which requires U.S Citizenship.
