*Development and Communications Director* _Type: _ Full-Time Salary _Days/Hours: _ Must be able to work evenings, weekends, or holiday hours as needed _Position Description: _ The Development & Communications Director, in collaboration with the Executive Director, is responsible for securing and maintaining public and private funding through grants, corporate contributions, and individual gifts. The Director also oversees the Bijou Theatre’s marketing and communications including, annual reports, websites, media relations, and social media in relation to the organization’s mission and brand. _Roles & Responsibilities: _ Development – shape, manage and drive the organization’s fundraising strategy and programs, including: * Support the organization’s immediate and long-term fundraising strategy to sustain and grow donations and contributions. * Steward and extend existing Friends of the Bijou membership program, the Bijou’s primary individual donor program. * Develop new and recurring donor programs and campaigns including #GivingTuesday, capital project funds, and planned giving. * Manage the grant application and reporting processes for grants and contracts. * Research new public and private funding opportunities for Bijou Theatre programs and facility. * Secure corporate contributions and strategic partnerships to raise $40,000+ annually in unrestricted revenue. * Direct, develop, and execute annual Jubilee fundraiser, including securing event sponsors. * Work closely with the Business Manager and Executive Director on budget creation and reconciliation of monthly financials Communications - Develop and oversee the implementation of a communication strategy to raise awareness of the Bijou’s mission, impact, and story to effectively cultivate support for the organization, including: * Produce the annual report, including developing concept and timeline, writing copy, and work with photographer and/or graphic designer to highlight organization’s achievements and impact. * Develop marketing materials for a variety of audiences (digital newsletters, brochures, one-sheets, event invitations, etc.) * Work with current marketing partner to weave organization’s mission and brand messaging into show marketing efforts * Conduct and compile the results of post-program patron surveys. * Measure the effectiveness of communication efforts, establishing benchmarks and using analytics to inform decisions. _Skills & Qualifications: _ * At least 3 years of experience and success raising revenue from foundations, corporations, public entities, and individual donors. This could include a corporate sales background. * Substantial experience in communications and marketing * Demonstrated excellence in organization skills and strong attention to detail * Experience managing grants (applications, reporting, stewardship), with a proven track record of securing grants from corporate and foundation funders. * Experience with websites, annual reports, and email newsletter production and message development. * Strong communication skills, including ability to write with clarity, accuracy, and brevity. * Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and initiatives. * Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including the ability to work with and serve people from different backgrounds. * Proficient with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with WordPress, CRMs, and Adobe Suite (photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) preferred. * Commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
