The Senior Property Adjuster position is responsible for the day-to-day management of an inventory of commercial property claims and will be required to investigate losses; manage and control independent adjusters and experts; interpret the policy and endorsements to make proper coverage determinations; post and evaluate reserves; write coverage letter and reports; and provide exceptional customer service.

The position will report directly to the Property Team Leader and the selected candidate is expected to have a high degree of expertise, initiative and ability to prioritize, multi-task, maintain flexibility and meet industry best practices and claim handling requirements in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Position Responsibilities
  • Oversee the investigation, reporting, inspection of losses, and computerized damage estimating of independent adjusters
  • Conduct thorough coverage analysis and create detailed reports for clients
  • Write coverage letters, including disclaimers and Reservation of Rights letters for distribution to customers, and large loss reports for distribution to senior management.
  • Ensure timely posting of loss and expense reserves and handling of a claim from assignment to completion by investigating that claim and interpreting coverage.
  • Review and analyze claim forms, policies/endorsements, and client instructions
  • Settle claims promptly and fairly
  • Ensure data integrity through proper coding and system functions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational and analytical skills
Qualifications
  • At least 5+ years of commercial and/or residential property claims handling experience
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, PPT)
  • Excellent writing skills relating to policy interpretation
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience with claims handling systems
  • Experience evaluating property damage estimates (i.e. Xactimate)
  • State licensing a plus
  • Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances.
