Overview


RES is currently accepting applications for Director of Business Development based in Delray Beach or Boca Raton, Florida locations. Remote work/location is possible under the right circumstances.


The mission:  RES is launching a new venture to extend its core environmental project implementation skillset into carbon by investing, financing, and developing carbon projects for US/Canada with the potential to expand globally as the effort expands.


We are looking for an effective COMMUNICATOR as the role comprises of working with an adjacent investment team as well as with the CEO in developing and investing into carbon projects. Additionally, you will be honing your business development fundamentals with other key figures by establishing, nurturing, and commercializing relationships to extend the existing environmental advisory into carbon solutions and the development/investment of various carbon projects. You will need to possess a DETAIL-ORIENTED mindset as you will be required to analyze RES’s core capabilities in ecological development, identify pain points in each carbon sector, and mapping those points together to drive a capital-light advisory business. A COOPERATIVE mentality will be beneficial in your role as you will help source, sculpt, and negotiate opportunities of carbon projects. Having a PROBLEM-SOLVING mindset would be helpful as potential projects involving interaction between government/non-profit organizations where a corporate entity is not the decision-maker or project management capability is valued more than capital, you will be asked to develop joint ventures or opportunities where capital is not required.


What your day-to-day might look like?


WHAT YOUR DAY-TO-DAY MIGHT LOOK LIKE:


40% of your time, you will be collaborating alongside other colleagues to include the CEO in developing/investing opportunities related to the carbon industry with the aim to further develop RES capabilities in expanding its ecological restoration efforts. Additionally, you will help build RES’s carbon platform through your knowledge of business development in fostering a relationship to extend environmental advisory for carbon solutions and investment into carbon projects.


40% of your time you will be supported by an adjacent investment team to help identify, sculpt, and negotiate RES initiatives in investing into the carbon industry. Furthermore, you will analyze varying pieces of data and utilize best business development practices for development and be able to disseminate that information to your peers using various applications or software if necessary.


10% of your time, you will be developing varying strategies and initiatives to progress RES’s emergence into the carbon industry. There is the potential for the platform to expand in size so you will need to adapt to changes as RES progresses with the new platform.


Qualifications


We would like to talk to you if you have many of the following:



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related field of study such as business administration, business development, marketing, entrepreneurship, management, communication etc.


 



  • Certificates related to the field of business are welcome such as administration or leadership etc.


 



  • 7-15 years of corporate and business development with experience in venture capital, private equity, or project finance.


 



  • 1-4 years of experience in carbon offsets or credits (voluntary and compliance), carbon credit sales, carbon joint ventures or project finance.
