Position Summary

Manage our client's data policies and procedures, associated security, and support the development of software tools and management of corresponding data sets.

Essential Job Functions * Architect software applications and the corresponding data structures. o Development of associated development specifications.

  • Project management oversight of software and data sets being developed on behalf of our client.
  • Ownership of key company policies and procedures including data management plan, research report and software specifications, and security and data standardization formatting handling:

o Company Data Management Plan

o Company Final Report and Software Specifications to company policies and procedures related to the security and format of data handling.

  • Oversight of the conversion of legacy data in multiple formats (including Access, Excel, comma delimited) into new databases including creating views and blinding of data to non-compnay personnel.
  • Assist in identifying new software to be developed to streamline the integration and usage of company's research results.
  • Managing compnay's development of AI/ML based efforts.
  • Managing the contracts and leases of IT based servers and software products.
  • Manage security access to databases and applications.
  • Managing and prioritizing website/software support tickets.
  • Coordination with research contractors for the format of research data and the coordination of data transfer from the research contractor to our client.
  • Identify opportunities for and help in the development of improved processes that enhance the execution efficiency and/or quality of information technology for our client.

[1] Fully remote in a location other than the two office locations of client will depend on candidate strengths in skills, competencies, and requirements for the position.

Qualifications – Experience & Education

  • A four-year university degree in computer science or engineering.
  • At least 10 years’ experience working in a computer science role performing a substantial portion of the position elements described above.

  • Experience in software and database development and the associated project management.
  • A demonstrated ability working in an information technology field requiring project, specification, and budget development.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Excellent oral and written skills with an exceptional ability to communicate to and collaborate with staff, colleagues, Board members and their technical representatives
  • Ability to work independently on a variety of tasks simultaneously, as well as a strong systems orientation and attention to detail.
  • Skillful working with a large and diverse body to reach consensus on complex issues.
  • Must have a high proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 products and any corresponding desktop versions including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Must have proficiency in database development and management applications. Preferred tool is Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Must have proficiency in database reporting tools and services. Preferred tool is SQL Server Reporting Services or PowerBI.

o Must have proficiency in related report generation tools. Preferred tool is Microsoft Visual Studio.

  • Programming knowledge in multiple languages including FORTRAN, C, C++, C#/VB, and Java.
  • The ability to create Microsoft Power Apps is a plus.
  • The position requires a high level of creativity, problem solving, and critical thinking.
