Principal Solutions Architect – Resilience
Our client is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to assist their organization remotely in Beaverton, Oregon.
Principal Solutions Architect Responsibilities
As a Principal Solutions Architect for Resilience, you will guide the design and evolution of our consumer-facing micro services ecosystem into a more fault-tolerant future. Our consumers expect our Digital experiences to keep working when things go sideways under the hood, and you will be responsible for creating the vision, the guidelines, and the tooling to make that happen. We run a large, distributed, and ever-changing system supported by a large, distributed, and ever-changing organization. We help write the future, defining technology that is adaptable, where systems can detect and heal from failures, and where developers can still focus on creating world-class features and applications to power our Digital experience. The successful candidate is a proven architect with excellent communication and relationship-building skills and enjoys finding simplicity in the heart of complexity. Our perfect candidate has a great desire to help engineers around them succeed, be comfortable consulting with engineers that are implementing our tools and vision when needed and believe that building strong relationships with partner teams will allow us all to succeed faster than working alone.
Principal Solutions Architect Qualifications
8+ years professional experience in software development, ideally, highly scalable web applications.
2+ years acting in a software architecture or technical lead role.
Expert knowledge of web technologies and application stacks, particularly around service discovery, routing, and edge caching.
Proven experience adapting existing technical and solutions architecture to meet the needs of an evolving revenue-generating business.
Proven ability to pull together diverse individuals with different goals and facilitate productive discussions.
Experience working in a distributed/cloud-based environment, especially AWS.
Experience with distributed data stores, such as Cassandra, DynamoDB, or similar technologies.
Diverse and deep experience in micro service architecture, domain-driven design, and RESTful Services, using languages such as Java, Node, or Scala.
Motivated by and comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Extremely comfortable with complex distributed systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as negotiation and diplomacy skills to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other relevant subject area. Extensive professional experience accepted in lieu of degree.
