Full Job Description

Catbird is looking for an experienced Contract Director of IT to look holistically at our organization’s IT strategy and implement efficient and frictionless technology solutions.

The Director of IT will be working across multiple departments (warehousing, retail, manufacturing and e-commerce) to partner with department heads on establishing systems to meet their department’s goals.

Can be a remote position with monthly travel to our Brooklyn HQ.

Key Responsibilities

Work with Catbird leadership and Advisors to develop a robust technology strategy, IT roadmap and investment plan

Analyze the business requirements of all departments to identify and satisfy their technology needs in accordance with the technology strategy

Implement a streamlined IT Portfolio Management process to review, prioritize and fund IT roadmap components

Manage all technology vendor partners in conjunction with relevant department heads, acting as a bridge and resource

Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software

Oversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to company’s goalsDevise and establish IT policies, processes and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by department heads

Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functional fit and effectiveness

Constantly reevaluating how we are doing things now and how they could be better (identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems

Control budget and report on expenditure

Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts

Our Ideal Candidate

Application architecture experience developing high-level solutions for business applications, systems and portfolios across an entire enterprise.

Architecture experience with development and implementation of IT services and solutions including security, networking, data integration and data management.

Experience with ITIL process implementation (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)

Hands on design and implementation experience with Netsuite or similar ERP is preferred but not required

Proven experience as IT Director or similar role

Strong experience in ecommerce, either in-depth with a single platform or familiarity with multiple platforms (strong preference for experience with Magento2)

Extensive web development, set up, management and integrations knowledge

Experience managing vendor partners as much of our work is done by third party partners

Preferably experience in retail or manufacturing and / or a company with many very different departments with specialized needs.

Experience in analysis, evaluation, selection, and implementation of IT systems and their specifications

Must be be deeply curious and thrive on problem solving

Must possess a sound understanding of computer systems (hardware / software), networks etc.
