Staff/Project Engineer
The ideal candidate would have competencies in design, technical writing, modeling, and document preparation. Experience to include collaboration and coordination with senior staff and management and direction of support staff. The position includes coordination of internal resources, some client relations, presentation preparation, and project management support. AutoCAD experience is required. This position will directly work with senior level staff to facilitate project completion, some work with clients, and manage junior engineers (ultimately, but not immediately). The ideal person for this position is interested in a wide variety of project types that integrate multiple disciplines.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate document preparation;
- Assist and implement site layout grading, drainage, site utilities, including design of forcemains, storm water management and erosion and sediment control;
- Oversee and prepare technical reports;
- Construction management;
- Proposal preparation support;
- Proficient in use of AutoCAD;
- Effective communication with colleagues and superiors; and
- Ability to manage junior engineering and support staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering required;
- 2-6 years professional experience;
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MS Word and Excel;
- EIT/PE license required;
- Design, construction, and installation experience;
- Solid written and oral communication skills to include proposal writing and reporting;
- Experience in HEC-RAS (HEC-2), HEC-HMS (HEC-1), HELP, ModFlow, Xstable, Settle, Slide preferred;
- Background in private and public sector projects;
- Experience directing staff resources;
- Good interpersonal skills; and
- Travel may be required.
