Plans and directs activities concerned with the quality control and assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products. Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test and/or integration to assure the quality of the products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and are assigned duties and responsibilities to support and assure compliance to the overall Quality Assurance System including Quality System Maintenance.

Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.

Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.

Audits the Quality Management Systems regularly to ensure over-all compliance.

Coordinates activities of gage lab and calibration requirements, including record keeping.

Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.

Root casue analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.

Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.

Coordinates overall inspection activities of receiving/outgoing quality functions.

Reviews inspections and gaging requirements and ensures their adequacy.

Dispositions IDR's and RMT's

Coordinates corrective action stemming from IDR's, RMT's, Customer complaints, etc.

Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance quality system, such as 5S, kaizen lean methods, six sigma, etc.

Assures compliance to codes and standards; ISO, NSF, IAPMO, ASME, etc.

Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.

Coordinate with Quality Managers to discuss and resolve product quality issues raised by customers.

Update customers in a timely fashion regarding the status of quality issues or any requests.

Participate in product quality planning and control process based on customer s specifications and requirements.

Inform quality management team regarding customer feedback and expectations on product s quality.

Prepare and update all necessary quality reports as required by customers.

Train and guide quality management team in identifying and developing problem solving methodologies to resolve quality issues.

Assist in new product development activities to avoid quality issues.

Prepare and maintain product quality documentation based on ISO specifications.

Develop product quality processes based on ISO standards.

Mange and coordinate ISO audits.

Work with Quality Managers to improve quality management system based on audit results.

Address customer issues in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university plus five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.

Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
