Systems Engineer - Senior

Spathe is currently searching for a Systems Engineer - Senior to join our team in the Columbia, MD area.

Spathe Systems is a rapidly growing SOF led, 8(a) defense contractor headquartered in Tampa, FL with offices in Fayetteville, NC and strategic partner locations in Virginia Beach and Coronado. As a small business with a tight knit family feel, Spathe empowers its employees to solve problems and make decisions.

Responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the IT systems for the client. Duties include designing the basic computing infrastructure to accomplish key tasks, establishing networking rules for cybersecurity and troubleshooting network errors or other technical issues to support the help desk.

• At least eight years of related experience
• Ability to focus on engineering from a performance perspective
• Expertise in a systems or application programming language (e.g., Java, C++)
• Expertise in web-based frameworks (e.g., Java Enterprise Edition (JEE), .NET, JavaScript, JQuery)
• Knowledge of data structures and relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostGres)
• Working knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP, HTTP)
• Familiarity with system engineering processes and techniques
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Strong technical writing skills
