  • The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Space & Launch (S&L) Software Development and Integration Capability team is seeking a Satellite Systems Space Software Products Manager (Level K) located in El Segundo, CA.
  • The ideal candidate will lead a diverse technical team providing software design, development, and sustainment, focusing on satellite platform/payload software and supporting functions.
  • If you come to work with us you will be responsible for full life-cycle software development which means you will have a hand in defining the requirements; crafting, implementing and testing the software; and supporting these products through delivery.

  • Leads employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering, focusing on embedded/real-time applications and space-ground products / tools / processes that support these applications
  • Develops and implements project and process plans across multiple program areas
  • Implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals
  • Performs staffing function for a software engineering team across a diverse program portfolio
  • Leads a group of roughly 25 engineers
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, program partners, and team members
  • Provides guidance and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Encourages continuous improvement, safety, and quality in engineering
  • Inspires change, efficiency, innovative process improvement, and exploration of new technologies
  • Champions Agile software development and DevSecOps constructs
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
  • The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Top-Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
  • 5+ years of experience with full software development process
  • 1+ years of experience with Agile software development
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
  • Experience with leading software teams
  • Experience working with systems engineers and integrating large-scale software systems
  • Experience with DevSecOps / Continuous Integration (CI)
  • Experience with EVMS within an Agile construct
  • Experience in C
  • Experience in embedded/real-time operating systems a plus

  • Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.
