THE ROLE

The New Business Development Director role will be responsible for attainment of corporate objectives in new revenue and customer development for deep cycle and commercial batteries sold nationwide. The position will manage all business development aspects with a primary focus on sales revenue, lead generation, pricing, assuring orders follow company policies including terms and conditions, assuring orders are placed in a timely manner, and quote follow up. The role balances sales support, independent account management, and sales training with the focus of growing the sales channel through effective and steady customer growth. Maintaining accurate and complete data, as well as effective communication with customers, and fellow Ramcar employees are essential to the overall success of the position.

The role will follow this primary structure: 40% phone calls nationwide, 60% call and face to face visits throughout the US And Canada. Travel requirement 10% to 25%.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manage customer relations and account activity for 3-12 months depending on needs then work in tandem with the customer service team to ensure a seamless handoff of the account for long term maintenance.
  • Meet or exceed set quotas through the sale of batteries while adhering to management's strategic sales objectives.
  • Develop and execute battery sales strategies to close sales opportunities utilizing, where appropriate, competitive information and available marketplace data relating to trends, and pricing to keep abreast of competition, competitive issues and products.
  • Develop knowledge of batteries, solar, and related products to be able to offer pricing for alternative batteries, racks, hardware, etc.
  • Communicate and promote new products and service offerings.
  • Plan and identify new business opportunities through a strategically planned approach and various channels. (B2B & B2C)
  • Participate in all communications meetings. Interfaces with company team members on a regular basis including: Executives, the Customer Service team and other Regional Sales Managers.
  • Works with leadership to determine product pricing.
  • Leads all sales development efforts for penetration strategy and tactics and assures his/her accounts is timely in pursuit of new customer contacts
  • Ensures critical customer deadlines are met
  • Reporting to management that includes customer and competitor activities , sales versus budget forecasts, and order intake.
  • Follows quality system procedures
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales goals and profitability quota
  • Hunting and finding new, incremental large customer opportunities
  • Actively drives and proposes activities (both internal and external) to maintain customer satisfaction in the region.
  • Network and develop high level, executive relationships for possible partnerships
  • Take lead role in gaining favored supplier status through corporate contracts at key assigned accounts
  • Representing the company at organized consultancy shows and customer events.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA degree preferred, or industry equivalent of battery sales knowledge required. Business Management, Business Administration or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of successful direct sales experience (Prefer business to business outside service sales experience).
  • Knowledge of UPS, stand-by power sources and their application
  • Of energy storage systems and components
  • Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented and able to manage and prioritize leads through multiple channels.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capable of resolving contract and product issues.
  • Strong PC skills; Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SM S& SharePoint knowledge a plus.
  • Team player with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects under a robust schedule.
  • High degree of independent judgment.
  • Ability to work in a matrix management environment and with all levels within the organization.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record a must.
  • Travel will be required.

Salary: Base Competitive commission plan

Role not limited to candidates based exclusively out of California.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
