POSITION SUMMARY:

The Deputy Director manages multiple project teams of advisory professionals and administrative staff, as well as consultants as appropriate. The Deputy Director plays a key role in the development of standards and best practices in serving a broad spectrum of family, individual and institutional donors. The Deputy Director formulates and implements strategies to expand RPA s capabilities and base of donors, and oversees a significant portfolio of clients. The Deputy Director has substantial philanthropic experience and project team management experience and provides overall leadership, direction, and supervision to project team members within assigned projects. Based on client directives, responsible for strategic planning, development, implementation and oversees services to family, individual and institutional donors with minimal strategic guidance. Builds and maintains client relationships. Represents Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors in the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage client engagements and special initiatives for a diverse portfolio of individual, family, corporate and institutional donors.
Coordinating and building synergetic project teams.
Assess issues, organizations, and projects in designing grantmaking/operational strategies and recommendations.
Act as executive staff for key foundation clients as needed.
Negotiate, design, and lead ongoing client relationships.
Identify, pursue leads and prospects through external representation and networking.
Maintain expertise in major issue areas on behalf of RPA and clients.
Maintain familiarity with required procedures, and best practices for major charitable giving vehicles, including knowledge of domestic and international grantmaking.
Represent Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors externally through speaking and writing in area of expertise.
Participate in key cross-functional teams and initiatives for RPA.
Develop, present and manage philanthropic initiatives as opportunities arise.
Manage assigned staff, project team members and consultants.
Oversee the timeliness and quality of client materials, including proposals, reports, minutes, and dockets.
Develop and present strategic plans, operating plans and other research-driven projects for clients.
Facilitate philanthropy retreats and meetings of client grantmaking entities.
Develop and maintain client relationships with major donors. Experience with corporate philanthropy a plus.
Represent Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors at professional conferences, workshops and
donor briefings as needed.
Serve as a resource on required procedures, regulation and best practices for major charitable giving vehicles, especially foundations and charitable trusts.
Help Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors achieve its strategic and operating goals.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Pay Range: $108,300.00 - $159,000.00 salary per year. The range listed is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
