The Human Resource Representative is responsible for assisting the Company and the One step Division, its leaders, and employees by providing guidance, counsel, and support regarding human resources issues including talent acquisition, employee relations, and compliance.

This position requires the ability to work under minimal supervision and must work closely with management, and internal team members.

Fostering relationships across the company is critical to the success of this position.

Essential Functions

Establish credibility and trust with leaders and employees, and serve as the on-site, go-to HR resource for the team

Provide information and assistance to employees and leaders regarding HR issues following Company policies and procedures and federal and state regulations

Assess employee engagement and implement actions to build positive and engaged teams

Partner with Talent Acquisition and leaders to quickly source and fill openings locally and at other locations

Support leaders to provide a positive onboarding experience

Respond to unemployment claims

Communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations to leaders and employees

Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment

Provide information to update BMD career website


Desired skills and experience:
B.A. or B.S. in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related field desired

2-4 years work experience as a human resources generalist with an emphasis in employee relations and talent management and strong knowledge of state and federal employment, labor and other HR related laws and regulations

Excellent communication, team building, time management and organizational skills a must
