Job Description
Worthington is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in motors, motor controls and specification and design. This position will analyze, interpret, or create graphical analyses of power usage of equipment, motors, and systems. Other responsibilities include design and oversight of the construction of controls and monitoring systems for power, process equipment, and lighting. Additionally, this role requires strong skills using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office software, and an understanding of power, wiring, load usage and analysis/design. This role will be in a plant environment and working with cross functional partners to obtain information such as detail drawings, design calculations, system layouts, sketches and power specifications. This role requires good communication skills and a professional demeanor to interact (face-to-face and other media) with customers, contractors and intercompany employees.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide support in startup of electrical systems design
- Analyze and model data, make decisions and solve problems
- Judge the power needs of a facility and determine inefficiencies, propose solutions
- Program Logic Controls (PLCs) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
- Establish and maintain good relationships with clients, consultants, company staff, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Schedule work and activities, issue, maintain, and update schedules
- Organize and file drawings, paperwork, e-mails, and other correspondence
- Organize, plan, and prioritize work in a team environment
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Engineering Technology
- Knowledge of building systems operation, maintenance and controls including process equipment, lighting, power and electrical service
- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Document all analysis in a computational Model, whether simpler or complex.
- Ability to use computer software for analysis, costing, scheduling, and estimating (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and other).
- Attention to Detail - Job requires attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Verify all calculation inputs and results using all means available.
